Overview
On a California hillside the landscape is part of the building envelope. We plan planting, spacing, and clearance around the house so the yard is not the thing that carries a fire to your door, and we do it without turning the property into gravel. It is design and mitigation handled as one plan instead of two.
Clearance and curb appeal are not opposites
Most fire-mitigation work looks like the yard was given up on. It does not have to. Plant choice, spacing, and hard edges can do the mitigation work while the property still looks like somewhere you want to be.
