About Us

Meet Ryan and Tyler.

Rock & Refuge Earthworks is owner-led by two partners. The people who quote your job are the people standing on your property while it gets built.

Why we started

Two partners, not a payroll.

Rock & Refuge started because both of us had seen how this industry usually treats people. Bids that move after the deposit clears. Crews you never met, run by an owner you never see. Work that looks finished on the last day and starts failing by the second season.

We wanted to build a company where the person who shakes your hand is the person accountable for the result, where the estimate is honest the first time, and the part of the job you will never see is done as carefully as the part you will.

That is why there are two of us and not a phone tree. We take a limited number of jobs on purpose. It keeps us on the properties we are responsible for.

The partners

Who you'll actually be working with.

Owner & Partner

Between the two of us, one of us is on your job. Not a foreman filling in, not a subcontractor you were never told about running the show. You will know who is on your property, and you will have the number of an owner who can actually make a decision.

What we're built on

Where the name comes from.

Rock & Refuge is not a marketing name. Both words come out of scripture, the language used for something solid enough to build on and safe enough to come home to. We named the company after that standard because it is the one we want to be held to.

We are Christians, and we don't think that is something you leave in the truck. It shows up in ordinary ways: quoting a number and honoring it. Telling you the truth about what your property actually needs, even when that means a smaller job than we would like. Showing up when we said we would. Doing the work right when nobody is watching, because Someone is.

A yard should be the place your family exhales at the end of the day. That is the whole point of the work: building something solid, so the people who live there can rest in it.

You don't have to share our faith to hire us. But you should know what is underneath the way we work.

What that means for your project

We keep our word

The number we quote is the number you pay. If something changes, you hear it from us first, in writing, before any work happens.

We do the unseen part right

Grading, drainage, base depth, compaction. Nobody photographs it and nobody thanks you for it. It is also the only reason the finished yard still looks right in ten years.

We treat your property like ours

We work clean, we clean up before we leave, and we don't leave a mess for you to deal with on a Saturday.
